91st Meridian was an electronic publication of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City (41° 38' N /91° 33' W). It appeared intermittently, and aimed to contribute to general reading beyond the (national, linguistic, cultural) borders of the Anglophone sphere.

From 2002 through 2024, 91st Meridian published brilliant and talented writers from around the world, often in translation, and always engaging with the questions and challenges its editors judged most pertinent to international literary culture at the time of publication. We are proud of the 22 years of work that editor Nataša Ďurovičová put into the magazine; the five years of vital service by her co-editor, Kathleen Archer; and the contributions of the writers, translators, scholars, and graduate assistants who wrote what was published and/or supported its publication.
