About Ilze Duarte

Ilze Duarte lives with her family in Milpitas, CA, where she writes short prose and translates literary works by contemporary Brazilian writers. Her original work appears in New Plains Review, Dear Damsels, Please See Me, Hopscotch Translation, FlashFlood, and Thanatos Review, and her translations of short stories by Marília Arnaud and João Anzanello Carrascoza appear in Your Impossible Voice, The Massachusetts Review, Columbia Journal Online, Ambit, Northwest Review, and Asymptote. Ilze is seeking a publisher for her translation of Marília Arnaud’s award-winning novel The Secret Bird.
