Lakshmy Nair is a scientist, author, and nature photographer who lives in a suburb of Chicago. She is a native of Kerala, India, who writes in English and Malayalam, her native language. She has published a poetry collection titled A Lament. Several of her poems have also appeared in various anthologies internationally. Her poem “First Walk” was nominated for the 2022 Pushcart Prize. She has also published books in Malayalam. Her recent Malayalam book, “Latin American Yathrakal,” has won the FOKANA Award for Best Travelogue in 2022. In addition, she has published short stories, travelogues, poems (English to Malayalam), and essays in many Malayalam magazines.
