Julie Levy (she/they) is an independent scholar with two Masters degrees in ancient Greek and Roman studies. She quit her Ph.D. program, despite having begun her dissertation on Sappho’s poetic ties to the Near East, in protest over working conditions for graduate students. Since then, she has been on several panels about video games and the ancient world and continues to advocate for equity in academia.
