About Matt Reeck

Matt Reeck translates from Hindi, Urdu, French, and Korean. He was awarded a 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship as well as an American Council for Learned Society Emerging Voices Fellowship for translation. His prizes also include the 2020 Albertine Prize for Best Translated French Novel and the 2020–1 Northwestern University Global Humanities Translation Prize. Recent translations include the Hindi writer Shrilal Shukla’s Selected Satire: Fifty Years of Ignorance (Penguin-India). His translations with Betsy Wing of Edouard Glissant and Patrick Chamoiseau’s manifestos will appear later this year from Goldsmiths Press in London.
