About Urszula Zajączkowska

Urszula Zajączkowska is a writer, botanist, and visual artist; she teaches at the Department of Forest Botany at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Her debut poetry collection Atomy (Atoms, 2014) was shortlisted for the Silesius Poetry Award. 2017 saw the publication of her collection minimum, also shortlisted for the Silesius and the K.I. Gałczyński Poetry Award (it received the prestigious Kościelski Award). Her film Metamorphosis of Plants received awards at the Scinema International Science Film Festival and at the Festival of Light in Miami. She writes for dwutygodnik.com and Przekrój quarterly. Sticks, Stalks is her debut prose work.
