About Basma Bouabidi

One of Tunisia’s most prominent and inventive novelists and short story writers, was born in Degache, Tozeur in 1960. Her short stories have been published in numerous Tunisian and Arabic literary magazines in print and online. She is the author of several short story collections, including Twittering Outside the Flock (2001), I Practice Silence as a Profession (2004), and Bending (2012), as well as three novels titled respectively Feminisation Season (2006), The Smell of Fear (2009), and The Spider’s Homelands (2015).
