Paloma Fernández Sánchez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville, with a joint appointment in the Classical and Modern Languages and the Latin American and Latino Studies program. As a Latin Americanist, she studies current literary production in the Caribbean and its translation (both linguistic and cultural) into current U.S. and Latino societies. Many of the authors she studies were born in a Spanish speaking country but they now produce their literature in English within the United States or were born in to Latino families in the United States but now produce their literature in Spanish.
