Fiston Mwanza Mujila is a Congolese writer living in Austria. His début novel, Tram 83, won the Grand Prix des Associations Littéraires en Afrique (2015) and the Prix de littérature de la ville de Graz (2014), among other honors. Published in the U.S. by Deep Vellum, in an English translation by Roland Glasser, Tram 83 has been hailed by The Guardian as “the Congolese novel that’s wowing the literary world.” In 2016, it was nominated for the Man Booker International Prize.
