Itziar Pascual is a playwright, research scholar, and journalist. Since 1999 she has served on the faculty of RESAD (Royal School of Dramatic Art). She is author of some thirty published plays, among them works that have been translated and staged in France and the United States, as well as Spain. Among her prize-winning texts are El domador de sombras, Las voces de Penélope, Blue Mountains (aromas de los últimos días), La paz del crepúsculo, Pared, and Mascando Ortigas. She is a founding member and has served as president (2000-2003) of the AMAEM Marías Guerreras, a Madrid Association of women in theater. She was editor of the first cycle of texts from the Marías Guerreras in Casa de América.
