Jo Brachman earned an MFA in Writing from Pacific University. Her poetry has appeared in Best New Poets, Cimarron Review, The Cortland Review, Poet Lore, Valparaiso Poetry Review, among others. A recipient of the Fulbright, Brachman’s research project at Lund University in Sweden focused on the archives entitled Witnessing Genocide, concerning the
German concentration camp Ravensbrück. She has collaborated with the Swedish composer Staffan Storm who set a selection of her English translations of the incarcerated women’s poetry to music, performed in Sweden in late fall 2023 and to be performed in early winter 2024.
