Alaíde Ventura Medina is a Mexican anthropologist, writer and editor from Veracruz, México. She has published three novels: Como caracol (SM), Entre los rotos (Penguin Random House) and Autofagia (Penguin Random House). In addition to fiction and essays, she has worked on scripts for TV and advertising for media such as Canal Once and Time Out México. She is currently a PhD student in Creative Writing in Spanish at the University of Houston.
