About Michelle Bolduc

Michelle Bolduc is an Associate Professor of French and Affiliated Faculty in Translation & Interpreting Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Trained as a medievalist in French and Italian literature, her work in translation began by translating Old French and Old Occitan poetry into English. She has also translated the twentieth-century philosophy and rhetoric of Chaïm Perelman and Lucie Olbrechts-Tyteca, and regularly teaches graduate students applied French to English translation and translation theory. While she has also published on medieval rhetoric and translation, medieval French and Occitan literature and its manuscript contexts, and medievalism (in film), her current love is the translation work she is currently doing with several contemporary Breton poets, chief among them, Anne Jullien.
