Janet Hendrickson translates from Spanish and Portuguese. Her experimental translation of Treasure of the Castilian or Spanish Language by Sebastián de Covarrubias, which turns the seventeenth-century dictionary into a collection of prose poems, was longlisted for a PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. She is also the translator of The Future Is Not Ours (ed. Diego Trelles Paz), an anthology of contemporary Latin American fiction.
