Ekaterina Petrova is a literary translator and nonfiction writer. She holds an MFA in Literary Translation from the University of Iowa, where she was awarded the Iowa Arts Fellowship. Her translation-in-progress of Iana Boukova’s novel Traveling in the Direction of the Shadow, which she began working on as part of her MFA thesis, was selected for Art Omi’s 2019 Translation Lab and received a 2021 PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grant. Ekaterina’s work has appeared in Asymptote, Words Without Borders, European Literature Network, Reading in Translation, and EuropeNow, among others.
