Jacob Riyeff is a translator, poet, and scholar whose work focuses mainly on monastic culture and western contemplation from the early medieval period to the present day. His newest book (with his wife Mamie) is a translation of and commentary on the Old English Advent Lyrics, O Shining Light: Old English Meditations for Advent and Christmastide (Gracewing). Jacob teaches in the English department at Marquette University and lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
