Griffin Budde is a PhD student at Boston University, born in Milton, Massachusetts. Before returning to school as a graduate student, he worked for three years in the state’s parks department; now, politics, the outdoors, and Latin poetry number among his favorite pursuits. He has self-published a book of original poetry, titled Ashes & Soil, in which one can find scattered translations of Greek and Latin works, especially those we might call “love poems”. For, it is the timelessness of certain human attitudes which first drew him to the study of history and classical languages.
