About Mary Hamil Gilbert

Mary Hamil Gilbert is an Assistant Lecturer of Greek and Roman Studies at Birmingham-Southern College. Her research and teaching focuses on Greek and Roman drama, early modern receptions of antiquity, and feminist approaches to the ancient world. She has published an article on Jean Racine’s reception of Seneca and Euripides., and she has forthcoming pieces on the suppression of ancient women’s anger in the anonymous Roman tragedy Octavia and early modern French receptions of ancient motherhood.
