About Nora Iuga

Nora Iuga (b. 1931) is one of the most important, productive, and original Romanian writers, despite being banned from publishing by the communist regime between 1971 and 1978. She has published 19 collections of poems, 7 books of prose, and 33 books of German-language authors. Iuga is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2015) and the National Order of Romania in rank of Commander (2017) for her dedication to promoting literature and culture.
