About Buğra Giritlioğlu

Buğra Giritlioğlu (Istanbul, 1971) earned his BS (Cornell University) and MS (MIT) degrees in Materials Science & Engineering. He also holds an MA in Ethnomusicology from Istanbul Technical University (thesis on Georgian vocal polyphony), and taught a “world music” course at Boğaziçi University (Istanbul). In addition to his 2016 book of original poetry, his short story and poems have appeared in various Turkish journals, and several of his translations have been published in Middle Eastern Literatures. An avid singer and amateur pianist, he has sung with many semiprofessional choirs in the USA, UK (BBC Symphony Chorus), Netherlands (Laurenscantorij), and Turkey.
