Frida Maureen Hultberg (b. 1990) is an artist based in Oslo, Norway. She has a master’s degree in architecture and landscape art from The Royal Academy in Copenhagen, but for the last couple of years she has been focusing on drawing (oil pastel and charcoal). Her first exhibition Everything that Grows Falls, in collaboration with artist Tora Frogner, will open in Oslo in June.

Her drawings explore the space between the cultural sphere where the world in many ways is perceived as comprehensible and within our control, and what lies on the other side—the world as foreign and wild. Frida’s work aims to open a hatch door to where it storms and burns, rots and sprouts. In a time marked by climate crisis, war, and dystopian future prospects, it is as if the distinction between these dimensions is about to burst.
