About Bradley Schmidt

Bradley Schmidt grew up in rural Kansas, completed a bachelor's in German Studies at Bethel College, studied German Literature and Theology in Marburg, Germany, and completed a master’s in translation studies at Leipzig University. He lives and works in Leipzig as a translator and editor. His translations of contemporary German poetry and prose have been published widely online and in print. Schmidt’s translation of Anna Kim’s Anatomy of a Night, published by Frisch & Co., received critical acclaim. His translations of poems by Ulrike Almut Sandig will be published as the chapbook Missing Witnesses by Ugly Duckling Presse in autumn 2015.
