Kate Needham is a translator, flash fiction writer, and PhD candidate in English at Yale University. Her research on English translators from William Caxton to George Chapman to Lucy Hutchinson explores early modern translators navigating different ideas of literary style. In her own translations she is also drawn to problems of art, style, and how translation can engage them and surprise us. Originally from Missouri, she now lives in Connecticut where she teaches writing and literature, neglects her houseplants, and romanticizes the Midwest.
