About Jeannine M. Pitas

Jeannine M. Pitas is the Spanish-English translator of seven books, most recently Uruguayan poet Marosa di Giorgio’s Carnation and Tenebrae Candle (Cardboard House Press, 2020) and Uruguayan poet Selva Casal’s We Do Not Live in Vain (Veliz Books, 2020). Her translations of Jesús Maya’s poetry have appeared in Lummox and Seedings Journal. Her own first full-length collection of poetry, Things Seen and Unseen, was published by Mosaic Press in 2019. She lives in Iowa, teaches at the University of Dubuque, and serves as a contributing translation editor for Song Bridge Press and Presence: A Journal of Catholic Poetry.
