Monika Herceg is a Croatian poetess and a PhD candidate in physics. She is the author of two poetry collections, including widely acclaimed Početne koordinate [Initial Coordinates] (2018), and Lovostaj [Closed season] (2019). She has received many national awards, including Goran for Young Poets, Slavić Award, Kvirin Award for young poets, Fran Galović Prize, Na vrh jezika award, and the international UNESCO award Bridges of Struga. Her poems and short stories have been translated into French, Italian, Greek and Macedonian. She is currently working as a poetry editor for Croatian journal Poezija [Poetry] published by the Croatian Writers’ Society and is a full-time mother of two.
