About Leanne Ogasawara

Leanne Ogasawara was born and raised in Los Angeles, She has spent much of her adult life in Japan, where she worked as a freelance Japanese translator, editor and writer for over two decades. Her translation work has included academic translations, poetry, philosophy, and documentary film. In addition to translation, she is a contributing editor for the award-winning literary magazine Kyoto Journal. She also writes for the arts and science blog "3 Quarks Daily" and has published work in the Hong Kong arts magazine Arts of Asia. She has an MA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Japanese literature and linguistics.
