About Thomas H Simpson

Thomas H Simpson, formerly Professor of Instruction in Italian at Northwestern University, has translated numerous theater works into English, including pieces by contemporary authors such as Marco Paolini, Marco Martinelli/Teatro delle Albe, Marco Baliani, and Saverio La Ruina. His translations of plays by Eduardo De Filippo have been performed at the Long Wharf Theatre, ACT in Seattle, and the Pittsburg Public Theatre. He is the author of a study of united Italy’s first media circus trial, Murder and Media in the New Rome (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010), and a forthcoming article entitled “Theatre v. Ethics”.
