Earl E. Fitz is a professor of Portuguese, Spanish, and Comparative Literature at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He teaches courses on Brazilian Literature, Comparative Brazilian and Spanish American Literature, Latin American Poetry, and Theory and Practice of Translation. He has B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Iowa, an M.A. from Queens College, C.U.N.Y., and a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He has been a Visiting Professor of Translation at the University of Iowa and the recipient of a U of I Alumni Fellow Award.
