Agnieszka Kuciak is a poet and a translator of Italian Literature and teaches the History of Literature and Comparative Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. In 2001, she published her first book of poetry, Retardacja [Retardation] and in 2005 another collection of poems: Dalekie Kraje [Remote Lands: An Anthology of Nonexistent Poets] came out. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines in Poland and abroad. The translations of her poetry by Ewa Chrusciel have been published in Lyric 8, Spoon River Poetry and also appeared in Six Polish Poets (the anthology of Polish poets). Co-translations of her work by Ewa Chrusciel and Elżbieta Kotkowska appeared in Poetry Wales.
